Privacy & data protection
Privacy Policy
How IA Webspace handles personal information when you contact us, use our website or purchase our services.
Who we are
IA Webspace provides website design, WordPress development, managed hosting, domain configuration, website maintenance and related digital services through iawebspace.com.
For personal data collected through this website and in connection with IA Webspace’s own customers, IA Webspace acts as a data controller where it decides why and how that data is processed. For certain work carried out on behalf of clients, such as hosting or maintaining a client website, we may instead act as a data processor under the client’s instructions.
Privacy enquiries: in**@********ce.com.
Personal data we collect
Depending on how you use IA Webspace, the information we may handle includes:
- Enquiries: name, email address, telephone number if provided, project requirements and messages.
- Orders and customer accounts: contact details, billing information, purchased services or products, transaction references and account information.
- Service delivery: relevant business contacts, support correspondence, domain and website configuration details, and access or diagnostic information reasonably needed to provide an agreed service.
- Technical information: IP address, device/browser information, security logs, and information collected by cookies or similar technologies, where applicable.
- Marketing preferences: contact details and consent or objection records, if promotional communications are offered.
Payment information may be processed by the payment provider used at checkout. We should not be assumed to receive or retain full payment-card numbers.
Why we use it and the legal bases
| Purpose | Typical GDPR legal basis |
|---|---|
| Answer enquiries, prepare quotations and respond to requests | Steps requested before entering a contract; or legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries, as appropriate |
| Manage orders, accounts and deliver purchased products or services | Performance of a contract |
| Maintain accounting, tax and legally required records | Legal obligation |
| Protect the site, prevent abuse and investigate security issues | Legitimate interests in keeping systems secure, subject to a balancing assessment; or legal obligation where applicable |
| Send optional marketing messages, if offered | Consent or another legally permitted basis where applicable; with an opt-out mechanism |
| Use non-essential analytics or tracking technologies, if deployed | Consent where required under cookie rules; related personal-data processing also needs an appropriate GDPR basis |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, these include managing enquiries, operating a secure website and maintaining business relationships, provided individuals’ rights and freedoms are not overridden. The precise basis should be checked against each actual processing activity.
Who receives personal data
Access may be provided to authorised people and carefully selected service providers where needed for the purposes above, such as hosting and infrastructure, email delivery, support software, website security, payment processing, accountancy and professional advisers.
For orders, relevant information may be shared with the payment provider used for checkout. We may also disclose data when legally required or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Client websites and hosting
When IA Webspace hosts, maintains or develops a website for a client, the client may be the controller of information submitted by visitors to that client’s website. IA Webspace may process that information only to provide the contracted service and in accordance with the applicable service agreement and data processing arrangements.
Clients remain responsible for their own website privacy notices, lawful bases, cookie controls and instructions unless otherwise agreed in writing. This policy concerns IA Webspace’s own processing and does not replace each client’s privacy notice.
International transfers
Some technology providers may operate or access systems outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we will assess the destination and use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with supplementary measures where needed.
How long we keep information
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, including service delivery, applicable legal requirements, resolving disputes and security needs. Records may be held for different periods depending on their purpose.
How we protect information
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures proportionate to the information and risks involved, including managed access, system maintenance and security measures. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your data protection rights
Subject to applicable law and circumstances, individuals may request access to their personal data, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability or object to certain processing. Where we rely on consent, it may be withdrawn without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
To make a request, email in**@********ce.com. We may need to verify identity before responding. Individuals may also lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use essential technologies for site operation, security, account and shopping-basket functions. Any optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies require an appropriate consent process where applicable. Please read our Cookie Policy for more information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services, processing activities or legal requirements change. The last updated date above identifies the version currently shown.
